Hi, I'm Charlotte! I'm a 24 year old living in NYC. Welcome to my blog!
I'm a Denver native who's been in New York for the last 6 years, completing both my undergraduate and Master's degrees. I recently graduated with a Master's in Public Health, with an emphasis in community health. I'm a big fan of exploring my city, spending too much money on books when I still have so many to read, and doing yoga. I'm enjoying the start of my career in community health programming, and want to turn my passion for mental health into work one day.
I am in recovery from an eating disorder, and have also been working on recovery from anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I have found writing about and sharing my experiences in finding recovery and living with mental illness to be tremendously healing.
I have always loved writing, and am thrilled to have published my first book, A Girl Called Shame, which dives deeper into my experiences, struggles, and triumphs. You can find it here:
It is my belief that speaking up about our collective experiences with mental health opens the conversation to help break down stigma and barriers. I am hopeful that by sharing my voice and story I can impact even one person to talk about these issues, or seek help if they need it.
I know that by healing myself now I will be able to help heal others and effect a meaningful change in the future.
I'd love to hear from you! Send me an email or find me on social media to connect more, and let's keep the conversation going!
